Access
The dining room is on the ground floor of a nineteenth-century hotel. Step-free arrival is possible via the hotel. Call ahead so the door is waiting — we will not guess your needs from a booking note alone.
Hotel guests
Mention the room number when you book. The concierge at 55, rue Saint-Jacques can also place the table. Charging to the room is arranged at the desk, not assumed.
Languages
The floor works in French and English. Menus are in both.
Dress
The room is a brasserie, not a club. After 5 p.m. we ask for a finished city look. Jackets are welcome, never required. Athletic wear and beachwear belong elsewhere.
Corkage & cake
Corkage is possible; ask the sommelier on duty, do not arrive with a case. Celebration cakes with 48 hours' notice; a plating fee applies. We do not permit outside savoury food.
Children
Children are welcome. Mention high chairs when you book. The room is lively at brunch; dinner after eight is quieter, not silent.
Animals
No pets, with the exception of certified service animals.
Terrace
A street terrace on Place d'Armes in fair weather. For a drink before or after, Terrasse Place d'Armes is the hotel rooftop above us — a different room, a different book.
Once you are here
Notre-Dame Basilica, Place d'Armes, the Old Port, Pointe-à-Callière. We are not a tourist desk; the hotel concierge is.
Questions we are actually asked
Yes for weekend brunch, Friday and Saturday dinner, and terrace evenings. Walk-ins at the zinc are possible. Book up to eight on OpenTable; larger parties through events.
Filet Rossini if you eat meat, Magdalen scallops or Arctic char if you do not, tartare if you want the house in one plate. Finish with crème brûlée or pavlova.
Often, if we know before you sit. Vegetarian plates exist. Vegan and severe allergies need a conversation with the maître d' when you book. The pass is not a dedicated allergen kitchen.
Finished city clothes after 5 p.m. No athletic wear, no beachwear. A jacket is never required.
